Lori just sent me a link to this latest video and I was so stunned that I watched everything on your site; such wonderful, multi-layered power in your poetry…visual, verbal, tonal, thematic. While I appreciated all of these elements of your art, the way you harnessed it and left questions unanswered, to let the pregnant pause stay pregnant, was uniquely nourishing. Somehow your expression of the nuances and holistic struggle of the human journey was hopeful in a subtle but still substantial way. I’ll be sending this link around and look forward to seeing more in the future.
I know it’s good when I need to watch it several times, because the first three times I’m entirely caught up in the visuals and my slow, image-saturated mind can’t possibly focus on what you’re saying at the same time.
Oh, and I want to read a blog by this Kurt Wilson fellow. He expressed my mind more perfectly than I could attempt. Awesome, Dave.
Dave…all is good…provocative…watched each…blushed…recoiled; finding my hand reached to Roget’s Thesaurus to review ‘human’ as I watched (our) face and faced the religiosity within…me. 417.4 says Mankind, “a god in ruins” (Emerson”. “the aristocrat amongst the animals (Heine)… And then Gen.1;26 and God said, Let us make man in our image…”; Jn.3:16. “for God so loved…”
All my questions are found flowing freely in-between and, like Tolstoys writings, along with the Beatitudes and the visul/thought in Salamanda Slam am found naked BUT freed to say “not what is expected, but how things ARE…striving less and living MORE in HIM-J.C.”
